The Board of Management of Ballinure National School, subject to the agreement of the Patron and Trustees/Property Owners, intends making part of the school premises available for the provision of before and afterschool /preschool services by an independent, external, third party operator. The successful applicant will be granted a licence to use a section of the school premises for specified days and times for a period of ten months (duration of the school year) and shall be responsible for the independent operation of the facility and the employment of all staff in the facility. The arrangement will be subject to a number of terms and conditions. Interested parties should in the first instance submit a written expression of interest, made by post and addressed to the Chairperson of the Board of Management of Ballinure National School, Ballinure, Thurles E41 PP30 no later than 4pm on Monday Dec 15th 2025. Further information will issue to all parties that submit an expression of interest.
If any interested party has an objection to the proposal to make the school premises available to an independent, external, third party childcare provider, such objections should be (i) made in writing; (ii) sent by post addressed to the Trustees/Property Owner of Ballinure National School, C/O Chairperson of the Board of Management of Ballinure National School, Ballinure, Thurles E41 PP30; and (iii) reach the school by Dec 22nd, 2025. Any such submissions must be made on objective grounds.
On Friday, 26th September, great excitement filled Ballinure National School as the community came together to celebrate the school’s 80th anniversary.
The younger children enjoyed a fun and engaging sensory workshop with Sensational Kids, Clonmel, while the talented pupils of Ballinure NS showcased their creativity through music, poetry, and dance.
Principal Karen Bond warmly welcomed a packed hall filled with community members — from those who once attended the original school to the youngest generation of babies who hope to become future pupils.
The day was filled with stories, laughter, and fond memories, all celebrating the proud history and bright future of Ballinure National School. The joy and sense of community carried on well into the evening, marking a truly special milestone for everyone involved.
